Corporate Responsibility

Nomad Ltd, a South African-based Company providing socio-economic, community management and resettlement advisory services has been appointed as the Human Resettlement and Compensation Consultant. The company has extensive experience in the provision of similar services in Northern Zambia for key mines in the region.

Resettlement of affected residences along the proposed route has been identified as a major social component of the project, and therefore a specialist consultant has already been engaged to commence the initial works regarding the identification of affected residents, design of programme for resettlement and resulting cost estimation.  

The Zambian Environmental Management Agency (“ZEMA”) have granted North West Rail Limited an Environmental License to commence construction of the project from the starting point of Chingola, through Solwezi onto Lumwana Mine. Corporate Responsibility is a key concern and priority for Chairman Enoch Kavindele.
